Best Courier Services in the Philippines

Last Updated Aug 14, 2023 @ 9:51 am

In this age of sheltering from home, courier services have become more essential than ever. From takeaway food and other basic goods, to personal effects that have become part of people’s lives, these frontline services have been touted as one of the heroes of this global pandemic.

Below, you’ll find a listing of the best courier and shipping services in the Philippines.

What is a Courier Service?

This type of business allows its clients to send a parcel from one location to another. It is typically distinguished from ordinary mail services due to features such as speed of delivery, security, tracking, and the ability to be booked and paid for online.

Courier services operate on all scales – from local deliveries and smaller parcels, to those offering national and international services for larger parcels.

Types of Courier and Shipping Services in the Philippines

There are five basic types of courier and shipping services in the Philippines that customers can choose from depending on their budget and needs.

Standard – This service involves collecting, sorting, and transferring parcels from, say, warehouses, to the closest depot to the delivery location. The parcels are then loaded onto a vehicle and delivered to their respective destinations. This service usually takes a few days but is generally the most affordable of all courier services.

Overnight – This type performs the same service as the above, but is more expensive due to its guarantee of having parcels delivered the following day.

Same-Day – As the name implies, this service promises same-day delivery and is, as such, the most expensive of all courier services.

International – This, as you might have guessed, is for transfer of goods overseas. Here, the price depends on the size of the package and the desired speed of delivery.

Pallet – This service is used for delivering goods placed in pallets (or boxes). This service usually follows strict delivery schedules (depending on delivery destination) and offers relatively affordable rates.

Who needs Courier and Shipping Services?

These days, these services have been particularly useful for people and businesses engaged in online selling, which require shipping solutions for multiple parcels.

Larger ecommerce businesses usually have arrangements with a courier service where they can get bulk discounts.

Additionally, everyday people who need things transported from one place to another also avail of these services.
