The next things you have to do—application for a PRC ID and license registration—will be a lot easier than taking the PRC exam. Thanks to PRC’s online services, you can quickly and conveniently transact with the government agency in the comfort of your home.

Aside from the initial license registration, you can also file for PRC ID renewal or replacement through PRC Online Services once your ID expires. This is helpful, especially for OFWs who have very limited time when they come back home for a vacation.

What is a PRC License?

A PRC license or professional license is formal permission from the Philippine government to practice a certain profession, such as nursing, teaching, and engineering. 

Only licensed engineers, for instance, may prepare, sign, and submit plans to the government for approval. Likewise, only licensed healthcare professionals such as doctors, dentists, and veterinarians may perform medical procedures, prescribe medicines, and provide medical services.

PRC licenses are issued by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), an agency attached to the Department of Labor and Employment that’s mandated to supervise the practice of highly skilled professionals in the Philippines.

What is a PRC ID?

A PRC ID, also called the professional identification card (PIC), certifies that the holder is a registered professional with legal authority to practice his/her profession. It also certifies that the person is in good standing and that his/her PRC license has not been suspended, revoked, or withdrawn.

In short, your PIC is proof that you’re a licensed professional in the Philippines.

The PRC ID is honored as a valid government-issued ID in transactions with government agencies, banks, and other institutions. This ID card is also a requirement in job applications for positions such as teacher, nurse, radiologic technician, occupational/physical therapist, real estate broker, and more. 

The professional ID card contains the professional’s photo, signature, and the following information:

  • Complete name (Last name, first name, and middle name)
  • Registration number (A unique seven-digit PRC license number that identifies the professional)
  • PRC registration date
  • End date of PRC ID validity
  • Professional title (e.g., Architect, Certified Public Accountant, Professional Teacher, Criminologist, etc.)

PRC ID Qualifications

To qualify for a PRC ID, you must first pass the professional licensure examination administered by the PRC. 

You can take the PRC exam if you meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Filipino citizen
  • At least 18 to 21 years old
  • Good moral character
  • Graduate or degree holder of a school, college, or university recognized by the government
  • Never been convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude (anything contrary to justice, modesty, or good morals) with final judgment by a court of competent jurisdiction

PRC ID Requirements

The PRC has a dedicated website for PRC registration and ID application. To access this online facility, you have to create an account first.  

Prepare these information and documents for your PRC online account registration:

  • Email address
  • Mobile number
  • Personal information, including graduation date
  • ID picture in JPEG format
  • Valid ID

Initial Registration Requirements

After completing the PRC online registration process, prepare the following requirements, which you’ll personally submit during your appointment schedule.

  • Printed Oath Form (Can be downloaded from PRC Online Services after your registration)
  • Two passport-size photos in white background with full name tag
  • Two sets of metered documentary stamps (Available at your chosen PRC branch)
  • Community Tax Certificate/Cedula

The Professional Regulatory Board that governs your profession may require additional documents.

PRC ID Renewal Requirements

Here are the documents to submit to the PRC when renewing your professional license:

  • Printout of accomplished application form for Professional Identification Card (PIC)
  • One passport-size photo in white background with full name tag
  • CPD (Continuing Professional Development) units earned 
  • For authorized representatives filing the renewal and/or claiming the PRC ID: Special Power of Attorney and valid ID of the professional and representative
  • For PRC-registered professionals acting as representatives: Authorization Letter and his/her PRC ID

An updated certificate of good standing from the Accredited Professional Organization (APO) is also required for the following professions:

How to Register & Get your PRC License ID Online

The process of PRC online registration and ID issuance is almost the same as a passport application—you set an appointment online, submit the requirements on the scheduled date, and receive your ID.

But first, you have to register for an online account through the PRC Licensure Examination and Registration Information System (LERIS).

Here’s a step-by-step guide, from creating a PRC online account to claiming your professional ID card and certificate of registration. 

Step 1: Register for a PRC online account

  1. Access the PRC Online Services site.
  2. Read the Terms and Conditions under the Register tab.
  3. Click the I Agree button.
  4. Fill out the online form with the required information.
  5. Create a password with at least six characters consisting of letters, numbers, and special characters. Enter your password and type it again on the next line.
  6. Click the CAPTCHA checkbox.
  7. Click the register button.

Step 2: Complete your online profile

  1. Access the PRC Online Services site.
  2. Under the Sign In tab, enter your email address and password. Click the CAPTCHA checkbox and the Sign In button to log in to your PRC online account.
  3. Enter the required personal information. Click the Save Information > Next buttons.
  4. The list of photo requirements will appear on the screen. Click the Proceed button and upload your ID picture. 
  5. Click the Select Transaction button.
  6. Click the Initial Registration tab.
  7. Select your profession.
  8. Enter your Application Number (found on your Notice of Admissions).
  9. Click the Proceed button.

Step 3: Set an appointment online

  1. From the dropdown menu, select your preferred PRC regional office or service center (ideally the nearest branch) as your appointment venue.
  2. Click the Proceed button.
  3. Check the appointment details displayed on the screen. If you’re not available on the provided schedule, you can change your appointment date and time. Here’s how:
    • Under “Appointment Details,” click the Reschedule button.
    • Choose a new appointment date.
    • Enter your reason for setting a new appointment schedule.
    • Click the Confirm button.

Step 4: Pay for the PRC license registration fee

After booking an appointment online, the next step is to pay for the initial registration fee.

Click on your preferred payment option. Here are the different payment methods to choose from:

  • BancNet/LANDBANK/GCash
  • PRC – Cashier
  • UCPB (Over-the-counter/UCPB Connect/UCPB Mobile App)
  • PayMaya
  • Credit/Debit card (Mastercard/Visa/JCB)

Next, review the Transaction Summary and click the Submit button. Then proceed with the payment transaction.

How to pay via BancNet/LANDBANK/GCash

  1. Select your payment option. 
  2. Click the Submit button.
  3. Agree to the Terms and Conditions by clicking the checkbox.
  4. Enter your 10-digit LANDBANK ATM account number/16-digit BancNet ATM card number and PIN. If paying through GCash, enter your 11-digit mobile number.
  5. Click the Submit button.
  6. Click the OK button to confirm your payment via BancNet/LANDBANK. If paying through GCash, check your phone for a text message from the e-Payment Portal. Reply with your four-digit GCash mobile PIN within 5 minutes.

How to pay via PRC Cashier

  1. Print out or take a screenshot of the reference number displayed on the screen. You’ll be required to provide this number during payment.
  2. On your scheduled appointment, pay for the registration fee through the PRC cashier. 

How to pay via UCPB

Over-the-counter payment:

  1. Print out or take a screenshot of the reference number displayed on the screen. You’ll be required to provide this number during payment.
  2. Visit the nearest UCPB branch.
  3. Fill out a Bills Payment slip. For the Payment Reference, write down the 12-alphanumeric character generated from the PRC system.
  4. Present the accomplished slip and payment reference number screenshot/printout to the teller. 
  5. Make the cash payment.
  6. Receive your transaction slip. Your payment will be confirmed within two to three working days.

Payment through UCPB Connect:

  1. Log in to your UCPB Connect account.
  2. Enroll the PRC as your biller. For the Billing Account Number, enter the 12-alphanumeric character generated from the PRC system.
  3. Generate your transaction password.
  4. Click “Pay Bills.”
  5. Provide the required information.
  6. Review your payment details.
  7. Click “Submit.”

Payment through UCPB Mobile App:

  1. Open the UCPB app.
  2. Enter your UCPB Connect username and password to log in.
  3. Tap “Pay Bills.”
  4. Select “PRC” from the Government Institutions dropdown.
  5. Provide the required information. For the Billing Account Number, enter the 12-alphanumeric character generated from the PRC system.
  6. Review your payment details.
  7. Click “Submit.”

How to pay via PayMaya

  1. Launch the PayMaya app.
  2. Enter your PayMaya-registered email address/mobile number and password.
  3. Tap the Log In button.
  4. Select “Pay Bills.”
  5. Choose PRC as your biller.
  6. Enter the required information.
  7. Enter the amount to pay.
  8. Tap the Pay button.
  9. Check your phone for a text confirmation from PayMaya on your payment.

How to pay via credit/debit card

  1. In the PRC LERIS, enter your card details.
  2. Click the Pay Now button.

Step 5: Print your oath form

  1. Log in to your PRC online account.
  2. Click on “Existing Transaction.”
  3. To check your payment status, click the Payment Details button.
  4. If your payment is confirmed, click the Print Document button. The PRC Oath Form (Panunumpa ng Propesyonal) will be displayed.
  5. Click the Print icon on top of the document to start printing.

Step 6: Submit the PRC ID requirements

  1. On your appointment schedule, go to your chosen PRC office. 
  2. Proceed to the Customer Service Center and pay for two documentary stamps (one to be stamped on the Oath Form and one for the Registration Certificate).
  3. Submit your printed Oath Form for verification at the designated window.
  4. Sign on the Registry Sheet and put your thumb mark. 
  5. Submit all the other requirements.
  6. Receive your ID claim slip. 

Step 7: Claim your PRC ID

  1. On the scheduled date (as indicated on your claim slip), go back to the PRC branch where you filed your application for initial registration.
  2. Attend the mass oath-taking ceremonies.
  3. Submit your claim slip at the designated window.
  4. Receive your PRC ID and Certificate of Registration. Sign on the releasing log sheet.

How to Renew PRC License Online

As with initial registration, PRC ID renewal can be done through PRC Online Services

The procedures for renewing your license is pretty much the same as your first-time online registration.

You have to log in to your PRC online account, set an appointment, pay for the PRC ID renewal fee, print the application form, and submit the license renewal requirements.

PRC License ID FAQs

1. How long is the validity of PRC ID?

Professional ID cards are valid for three years for all professions. Your PRC ID expires after the validity date indicated on the card and must be renewed within your birth month.

But for professional IDs that are expiring during the community quarantine period, the PRC has extended their validity until the lifting of the government-mandated lockdown. Afterward, all covered professionals may apply for renewal within 30 days without incurring any surcharge or penalty.

2. What should I do if I forgot my PRC password?

Request a password reset through the PRC Online Services site. Just click the Sign In tab and then the Forgot Password button. Enter your email address, click the CAPTCHA checkbox, and click the Submit button. 

Within 24 hours, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to reset your PRC password.

4. How much is the PRC ID fee?

Here are the different fees you must prepare for when applying for a PRC ID or renewal.

The PRC charges an additional fee of Php 30 (baccalaureate degree) or Php 28 (non-baccalaureate degree) if you renew your professional ID 20 days after your birth month.

5. When can I get my PRC ID?

If you applied for a PRC ID for the first time, the PRC will issue it along with your Certificate of Registration right after your scheduled oath-taking ceremonies. 

If you applied for a PRC ID renewal, you’ll receive your new ID card on the day of your scheduled appointment.

6. What happens if I miss my PRC appointment? Can I still get my PRC license without oath taking?

You still need to take the Oath of Professional. You won’t be issued your PRC ID and Registration Certificate without taking the oath.

Here’s what you can do: Request a special/individual oath-taking to the concerned Professional Regulatory Board and provide the reasons for failure to attend the mass oath-taking.

After five working days from the oath-taking date, you may claim your professional ID card and Certificate of Registration at the PRC office.

7. Can I go directly to PRC without an appointment?

You won’t be allowed to file a walk-in application, as PRC offices accommodate only those with an online appointment for initial registration or PRC ID renewal. 

However, you can go directly to the PRC Central Office if you get a message like “No record found” or “For further verification” on the PRC LERIS.

8. How can I replace my lost PRC ID?

You can apply for a replacement ID card through the PRC Online Services. The process is similar to the online application for PRC registration and ID renewal.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Log in to your PRC online account.
  2. Click on “Select Transaction.”
  3. Select the Duplicate tab.
  4. Select your profession and enter your PRC license number. Click the Proceed button.
  5. Set an appointment. 
  6. Pay for the PRC ID fee (Php 250).
  7. Print your application form.
  8. Go to your chosen appointment venue on your scheduled date. Submit the following requirements for duplicate PRC ID:
    1. Printed application form
    2. Affidavit of Loss
    3. One passport-size photo in white background with full name tag
    4. Valid ID and Special Power of Attorney, if filed through an authorized representative
  9. Receive your new PRC ID, which will be released within the day.
